World No. 1 Iga Swiatek struggled with unforced errors but found her composure when it mattered most to see off Dutch lucky loser Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove 6-4 4-6 6-3 to reach the third round at Wimbledon and extend her winning run to 37 matches. Swiatek went past Monica Seles and matched Martina Hingis’ run in 1997.

Former champion Simona Halep saw off Kirsten Flipkens 7-5 6-4. Katie Boulter stunned 2021 finalist Karolina Pliskova 3-6 7-6(4) 6-4. Twice Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova beat Ana Bogdan 6-1 7-6(5).

World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas sailed into the third round with a 6-2 6-3 7-5 win over Jordan Thompson. The Greek will take on Nick Kyrgios, who beat Filip Krajinovic 6-2 6-3 6-1.
