Kidambi Srikanth beat compatriot HS Prannoy to enter the men’s singles second round of the Swiss Open Super 300 badminton tournament. World No. 49 Srikanth, who won 23-21 23-21, was better at crucial points against world No. 28 Prannoy in the 48-minute contest.

World No. 64 Shankar Subramanian beat Magnus Joahnnsen 21-5 21-16 in just 38 minutes.

PV Sindhu suffered yet another first-round exit as world No. 31 Julie Dawall Jakobsen beat the Indian 21-17 21-19 in 39 minutes.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
