Tai Tzu Ying takes title after thrilling Carolina Marin win
Chandigarh, January 31
World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying came from behind to edge out Carolina Marin 14-21 21-8 21-19 and win the women’s singles title in the World Tour Finals in Bangkok today.
Chinese Taipei’s Tai won the Finals title for the third time. She also prevented Olympics champion Marin from winning her third successive title in three weeks.
In the men’s singles final, Denmark’s Anders Antonsen beat Viktor Axelsen 21-16 5-21 21-17, also preventing his compatriot from winning his third tournament in three weeks. — TNS
