India cricket team captain Virat Kohli has been facing flak on social media from a section of his followers after he uploaded a video on Twitter and offered to share tips on celebrating a “meaningful Diwali”.
Kohli took to Twitter on Sunday, sharing a video in which he said he will be sharing some of his thoughts on celebrating the festival amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It’s been a tough year for all of us all around the world, especially in India with wave two (Covid-19) hitting us in 2021. As we get ready for Diwali in this festive season, I will be sharing some of my tips for you to celebrate with loved ones and family,” Kohli said in his post.
Kohli said he will be sharing his personal tips over the next few weeks and urged his followers to keep following his handle on Pinterest, a social media platform.
However, his comments on the video seem to have offended some social media users who proceeded to brutally troll the India captain.
A few even took a dig at Virat Kohli’s batting form in competitive cricket, urging him to focus on improving his numbers in the lead up to the T20 World Cup.
