In an attempt to exploit the deepfake technology, a video of Virat Kohli is being used to create fake advertisements. The ads are promoting a betting application, suggesting that Kohli guarantees high returns from minor investments.

To offer additional authenticity to the video, the cyber fraudsters included a manipulated footage of a famous TV journalist, creating an illusion that the ad was aired during a live news segment. By projecting that Kohli made significant profit through the app, the ad seems to be enticing viewers with the promise of easy money.

He is allegedly endorsing the app in Hindi in one of the videos, while in another such deepfake video, he is speaking in English with an intermittent American accent.
