World Archery has given a conditional relief to the Archery Association of India (AAI), meaning the Indian archers will now be allowed to participate in the international events under the national flag. In a letter addressed to the newly-appointed AAI president Arjun Munda, WA secretary general Tom Dielin announced the executive board’s decision to lift the ban on India. “I am pleased to announce that through an electronic vote the WA executive board has decided to conditionally lift the suspension of the AAI,” Dielin said in his letter. The world body had suspended AAI in August after both Arjun Munda and BVP Rao got elected as presidents in elections conducted by rival factions simultaneously in New Delhi and Chandigarh in June last year. — TNS
