X down again: Users face login, messaging, and loading issues globally

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a significant outage on May 22. However, another outage was reported today, starting around 6 pm IST. The platform’s users were unable to access the site, send direct messages, or view posts due to a data centre outage. According to DownDetector, over 2,500 reports of problems were filed at the peak of the outage.

A fire at a data centre in Hillsboro, Oregon, leased by X, was reportedly the cause of the outage. Emergency services were called to fight the fire, which may have impacted nearly 6,000 users globally.
