The actress described the statement piece as “more than jewellery,” calling it “a symbol of strength, vision and India’s rise on the world stage.”

“By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our PM, whose leadership has taken India to new heights,” Ruchi said in a statement.

The necklace was crafted with traditional Rajasthani motifs. Ruchi’s outfit also paid tribute to her roots. She wore a gold lehenga by designer Roopa Sharma, featuring mirror work, Gota Patti and embroidery, inspired by Jaipur’s regal fashion heritage.

To complete the look, Ruchi draped a handcrafted Bandhani dupatta from designer Ram of Zaribari, adorned with Zardozi and Gota Patti embellishments.

“Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the soul of Rajasthan,” she said.

Still, it was the PM Modi-inspired necklace that stole the spotlight.

“PM Modi has redefined India’s image across the world,” Ruchi said.

“I wanted to carry that pride with me. Representing Rajasthan and India at Cannes is not just a moment for me—it is a message to the world about who we are.”
