Barbie jeep blunder: Man busted for driving toy car on busy Canadian road

In a scene straight out of a comedy sketch, a man in Prince George, British Columbia, got himself into major trouble by driving what looked like a Power Wheels Barbie Jeep Wrangler right into the thick of morning rush hour traffic on September 5.

The Prince George Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) spotted the tiny vehicle cruising down Fifteenth Avenue near Nicholson Street, amidst cars big and serious, and decided to put the brakes on this particular driver.

It turned out the man wasn't just making a fashion statement with the pink Barbie-mobile – he was also intoxicated and driving with a suspended license, a combo that didn't exactly add up to a fun day for him.

Prince George Royal Canadian Mounted Police also shared the picture on X with the caption: “When driving a toy car is no longer child’s play.”

The police noticed signs he might be impaired, got him to do breath tests and both times he was over the legal limit.

And just so you know, this Power Wheels Barbie Jeep Wrangler is a toy meant for kiddos aged 3-7, with a max weight of 130 pounds and a top speed of a pokey five miles per hour. Safe to say the man probably didn't fit the demographic or the speed expectations.

The RCMP arrested him, slapped him with a prohibited driving charge, handed him a 90-day driving ban, and gave him a court date in December.

Who knew driving a Barbie Jeep in rush hour could lead to such an outcome?
