A viral video featuring an Indian Army officer playing cricket with locals in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir has captured hearts on social media.

The officer, part of 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), showcased his cricket skills while fostering camaraderie between the Army and the community.

As he faced a fast delivery, the scene reflected a growing bond between the Awaam (public) and the Jawan (Army), a sight that many users noted was once unimaginable.

The video was shared by Instagram user Fatima Dar with the caption, “The Indian Army in Shopian Kashmir, playing cricket with the locals! The bonhomie between the Awaam and the Jawan is strengthening in Kashmir! These scenes were once unimaginable but now the youth understand their contribution in empowering them!”

Reactions poured in praising the Army’s efforts to connect with the civilians.
