Recently, the makers dropped a lively promo on Instagram featuring the Punjabi superstar engaging in fun banter with Big B.
During their chat, Diljit expressed his deep admiration for the legendary actor but also made a surprising confession—there was one Amitabh Bachchan film he didn’t quite enjoy.
Diljit shared, “Jab aapki film aati thi toh bada khush hota tha ki kisi ne maar dhaad kardi toh hogaya. Ek sir aapki film mujhe acchi nahi lagi, Saudagar” (When your films used to release, I would feel really happy thinking, Great, there is finally some good action! But sir, there is one film of yours I did not like – Saudagar).
Explaining his reason, the singer-actor added, “Usmein sir unhone announce kiya ki Amitabh Bachchan ki film aarahi hai aur usmein fir aap gud bech rahe ho sir” (In that film, sir, they announced that an Amitabh Bachchan movie was releasing. And then you were shown selling jaggery, sir).
Saudagar, directed by Sudhendu Roy, was released in 1973. The film, also starring Nutan and Padma Khanna, portrayed Amitabh Bachchan as Moti, a trader who sold jaggery.

Introducing the singer, Amitabh Bachchan said, “Punjab da puttar, Diljit Dosanjh ka mai haardik abhinandan karta hu.” In a heartfelt moment, Diljit then touched Amitabh’s feet, and the veteran actor greeted him warmly with a hug.
