On November 23, Smriti’s father, Shrinivas, was rushed to a Sangli hospital with symptoms of a heart attack, prompting the cricketer to prioritise his recovery over the ceremony. Adding to the turmoil, Palash Muchhal was also hospitalised on Monday for a viral infection and acidity, though he was discharged the same day.
Dr. Naman Shah, the family doctor, confirmed Shrinivas is under observation for elevated cardiac enzymes and blood pressure.
"Smriti is very clear—she wants her father to be okay first," said Tuhin Mishra, Mandhana’s manager. "We request privacy during this time."
The couple’s pre-wedding celebrations, including a sangeet and haldi, had woked up social media, but festivities are now on hold.
