The scene in question shows Mahesh Babu walking in a desert with a snake.

Initially, the audience assumed the snake was a prop or toy, but when they realised it was moving on its own and that it was real, many ran outside the theatre in panic. Videos of the fan holding and dancing with the snake, his face covered with a cloth, went viral on social media.

It remains unclear whether the snake was venomous. Authorities have yet to confirm any legal action against the individual responsible.

Directed by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by C Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, ‘Khaleja’ showed a different avatar of Mahesh – a taxi driver caught in a battle between science, faith and corporate greed.

Co-starring Anushka Shetty, the film also featured actors Prakash Raj, Shafi and Rao Ramesh.
