News agency Pop Base’s X post regarding the announcement has garnered almost 3 million views.
Speaking at the Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), Rama formally stated that “for the first time Diella is pregnant and with 83 children”. These 83 “offspring” or digital assistants would aid each Member of Parliament from the Socialist Party.
“Each one...will serve as an assistant for them who will participate in parliamentary sessions, and will keep a record of everything that happens and will suggest members of parliament. These children will have the knowledge of their mother,” Rama said.
“For example, if you go for coffee and forget to come back to work, this child will say what was said when you were not in the hall, and will say who you should counter-attack. If you invite me next time, you will have 83 more screens for the children of Diella.”
The government anticipates that the system would be completely functional by the end of 2026.
Diella, whose name translates to “sun” in Albanian, was appointed in September 2025 to oversee the country’s public procurement system. She is the world’s first AI minister.
She is visually represented as a woman dressed in traditional Albanian clothes. Before she was appointed the minister, Diella was introduced as a virtual assistant on the e-Albania portal in January, helping citizens and businesses access state documents.
