That’s exactly what happened to Srikant Kumar Dutta, whose surname was misspelled as "Kutta" (Hindi for "dog") on his ration card due to the negligence of government officials.
When Dutta approached the concerned department to rectify the error, his request was ignored. Frustrated by the lack of response, he decided to take a bizarre yet undeniably creative route: he began barking at the government official responsible for the mistake.
The now-viral video, originally posted in 2022, is said to be from Bankura, West Bengal. It shows Dutta running alongside the official’s car while barking loudly — a unique form of protest that stunned onlookers and, surprisingly, got the job done.
Despite the absurdity of the act, it proved effective. The official reportedly ordered the correction of the document immediately after the incident.
The video has resurfaced online, drawing widespread attention and amusement. Social media users flooded the comments section with laughter and witty takes.
“What a protest,” wrote one user. “Non-Violence Movement,” said another.
One popular comment read: “Bongs are undefeated.”
