The Bharat Bandh over Supreme Court’s ruling on “quota within Quota” turned chaotic in Patna on Wednesday as a major clash broke out between members of the Bhim Army and the police at Dak Bungalow Chowk.

The situation escalated when a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) was accidentally hit by a police officer, sparking widespread outrage on social media.

Protestors took to the streets, blocking Bailey Road. This disrupted traffic for over three hours, causing delays and creating inconvenience, especially for emergency services. The protestors also obstructed roads near Ruknpura and Dak Bungalow Chowk, further intensifying the tension in the area.

As the situation spiralled out of control, the police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse the livid crowd. It was during this chaotic scene that the SDM, who was at the site to oversee the law and order situation, was mistakenly struck by the policeman with his baton instead of targeting the demonstrators.

A third user said, ‘iski baad me alag se sutaai hogi.’
