Fan was found abandoned in a cardboard box in Pakistan as an infant.
She was adopted by a Chinese couple working there, who brought her home to rural Henan province and raised her with love, despite their modest means. Her name, Zihe, symbolises longevity reports scmp.
Her life changed dramatically in late 2023 when a video of her enthusiastically eating noodles and speaking in a strong Henan accent went viral, gaining over 1.4 million likes.
Her blend of “exotic beauty,” regional accent, and warm relationship with her adoptive parents struck a chord with viewers. Today, she has more than 1.8 million followers on mainland Chinese social media.
Fan has since become a full-time content creator, sharing glimpses of rural life, promoting local produce, and supporting her village.
Among her earliest fans was a young man using the pseudonym Lyu Xiaoshuai. Touched by her authenticity and resilience, he became one of her most loyal supporters. They met by chance at a dinner with friends, and their connection quickly deepened. Lyu recalled being struck by her quiet strength and straightforward nature.
As their relationship grew, Lyu quit his job and moved to Henan to support Fan’s social media work. He took on video editing, equipment handling, and even helped with fan communications. Over the years, he also formed close ties with Fan’s adoptive parents and assisted with farm work.
The couple recently announced they will marry on September 17, sharing pre-wedding photos online with the caption: “The best person is already by my side.”
Staying true to tradition, the ceremony will begin at the groom’s home. Because Fan has never seen the ocean, Lyu has incorporated sea-themed decorations into the celebration.
The couple emphasised that no bride price was involved and that both families contributed equally to their new home.
Their love story has inspired many online, with fans sending warm wishes.
