Rohit Sharma was seen bowing to Virat Kohli, who was seated in the front row of the team bus. And just a few moments prior to that, Rohit was visibly caught off guard by India’s new ODI captain Shubman Gill who placed an arm around his shoulder, and greeted him warmly.

Rohit responded, “Areyy, Gill! Kaisa hai bhai?” (“How are you, brother?”) before embracing the young captain.

Gill, who made his international debut under Kohli's captaincy and played much of his career under Rohit's guidance, is now leading both of them in the ODI series against Australia. At just 26, Gill faces his biggest leadership test yet. Rohit and Kohli, two of India's greatest batsmen, will play under Gill's captaincy for the first time, making this series a thrilling new chapter in Indian cricket.
