As a result of Trump’s tariffs, Americans are racing to buy iPhones and other basic necessities, such as toilet paper, before prices increase.

Trump’s tariffs would cause the prices of iPhones and other basic items, like toilet paper, to rise.

Apple could face a big problem as these tariffs might make iPhones cost up to 50 percent more. Experts warn that iPhones could even cost over $2,000 if Apple moves production to the US.

Apple is trying to stock up on phones as the tariffs kicked in on April 9, and some think they might delay price increases until the iPhone 17 launch.

While some solutions, like moving production to other countries or getting exemptions, might help a little, there’s still a lot of uncertainty.

Apple makes most of its phones in China, so it’s especially affected by these tariffs.

China might add a 54% tariff, and other countries like India, Vietnam, and Thailand, where Apple also makes phones, might face smaller tariffs too. JPMorgan Chase experts say Apple might have to raise prices by 6% worldwide to make up for the tariff costs. Other analysts think Apple could lose up to 15% of its earnings if it doesn’t raise prices.

Even though Apple has moved some of its production to other countries, these places could still get tariffs, which limits Apple’s options. Some analysts say Apple could raise prices by 17% to 18% in the U.S. as a result.

Apple might also get some exceptions from the government for certain products, but the future remains uncertain.

In short, these tariffs could make tech products a lot more expensive for American consumers, and Apple faces tough choices ahead.
