Music has the ability to permeate across borders and bring people closer. One such Pakistani duo is connecting hearts with their mellifluous voice by singing an Indian ghazal.

A video of a duo- Jamshed Omar and Shama Husain- sitting together and singing ‘Jaane Woh Kaise Log They’ from the movie ‘Pyaasa’ is spreading happiness and receiving plaudits from people online.

Originally shared by filmmaker Mahera Omar, the duo featured in the video is her uncle and aunt.

The duo’s recent video of singing the song in their own rendition was shared by India Cultural Hub. It was lauded for the soothing touch it offered the listeners.

The original song was sung by Hemant Kumar in the 1957 movie ‘Pyaasa’ directed by Guru Dutt. The lyrics were penned by Sahir Ludhianvi and the music director was SD Burman.
