In a moment that quickly went viral, US President Donald Trump had a sharp reaction to a reporter’s microphone mishap during a press briefing at Joint Base Andrews on Friday.

While answering a question from another female reporter, Trump was startled when a reporter’s microphone—covered in fuzzy synthetic fur, known as a ‘dead cat’—accidentally bumped into his mouth, before running across part of the reporter’s face.

Trump, caught off guard, leaned back and closed his eyes in reflex, clearly trying to avoid whatever was happening. After a brief pause, he shot the reporter a death stare, raised both eyebrows, and appeared amused by the situation.

Seizing the moment for a classic Trump quip, he laughed and said, “She just made television tonight. She just became a big story tonight.”

Not missing a beat, Trump turned to someone off-camera, laughing, and asked, “Did you see that?”

It is unclear which media outlet the boom mic operator was associated with during the incident.

The moment instantly went viral as people across social media shared their thoughts about the incident and President Trump's reaction.

“She did not even apologize”, said a user on X.

“That was like being hit with a power puff”, another one commented.

“Suppose that the microphone had a poisonous substance on it. Trump would be dead. This is no laughing matter,” said another user.

“Didn’t even FLINCH. But looked incredibly disappointed with the reporter,” a user commented.

“The last thing you see before losing your job”, another one posted on X.

“That stare will scare her for life”, commented a user.
