As Vladimir Putin arrives in India for the 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit, the world is abuzz with speculation about his food arrangements. Unlike most world leaders, Putin travels with a dedicated team of chefs and a mobile food testing lab, ensuring that every dish is scrutinised for potential threats.

Putin's food is managed with near-military precision, with meals cooked in controlled kitchens set up in secure locations. Ingredients are either flown in directly or inspected thoroughly in advance, and every dish is checked before being served, often by trained testers.

Despite the elaborate precautions, Putin's diet is surprisingly straightforward. He favours simple, wholesome foods like tvorog (Russian cottage cheese) with honey or porridge, fresh juice, and occasionally raw quail eggs or an omelette. His preference is for high-protein, low-sugar breakfast options, and he tends to avoid overly rich preparations.

For lunch or dinner, Putin reportedly prefers fish over red meat, particularly dishes made with fresh or smoked varieties. Lamb is another protein he enjoys, accompanied by uncomplicated salads featuring tomatoes, cucumbers, and other basic vegetables.

Despite his disciplined routine, Putin is said to have a soft spot for pistachio ice cream, a rare indulgence for the Russian leader.
