According to a statement issued by the Delhi Police: “Some time ago, in a joint operation of Delhi Police Special Cell, UP STF and Haryana STF, two active criminals of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang were injured in a shootout near Tronica City, Ghaziabad.”
The injured gang members were taken to a nearby hospital in Loni, Ghaziabad, where they succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as Ravinder, a resident of Kahni in Haryana’s Rohtak, and Arun from Sonepat.
Police stated that the duo was directly involved in the September 11 firing outside Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly.
During the shootout, Sub-Inspector Rohit sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand, while Head Constable Kailash was injured on the bicep of his right arm.
Two head constables from the UP STF, Ankur and Jai, were also injured in the operation.
Following the incident, gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility on social media, officials said.
According to screenshots of Brar’s social media post circulating online, he claimed that the firing was a protest against alleged remarks made by Patani and her sister about two religious figures: Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.
Officials added that Brar’s post also contained threats and tagged several alleged associates from his gang.
