Beijing: Chinese military pilot Wang Yaping scripted history on Monday when she became the country’s first woman astronaut to walk in space. She moved out of the under-construction space station and took part in extravehicular activities along with her male colleague, the official media here reported. This marks the first spacewalk in Chinese space history involving a woman astronaut. PTI

NZ funds counselling support for school kids

wellington: The New Zealand Government is funding counselling support for over 24,000 of the most vulnerable children and youngsters to help them better manage issues such as bullying, loneliness, anxiety at school, or loss or grief, Associate Minister of Education Jan Tinetti said on Monday. IANS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
