Kabul: Men and women Afghan models participated in Kabul’s first-ever street fashion show, promoting the country’s culture along with a message for peace, a media report said. The show took place on Thursday, while a similar one was planned for Herat province next mont, the TOLO News report said. Previous fashion shows in Afghanistan were held indoors, not with public access. IANS

Comedian who joked about church leaves Russia

moscow: A popular stand-up comedian has temporarily left Russia for security reasons after the police opened an investigation into one of his performances in which he cracked crude jokes about Jesus and the Orthodox Church, his lawyer said on Thursday. Alexander Dolgopolov this week posted a picture of an Interior Ministry notice sent to St Petersburg’s HopHead Tap Room, where he performed last February, that asked the establishment to provide information about him.
