Indian-origin man gets 22-yr jail for Oz mishap

Melbourne: An Indian-origin truck driver, Mohinder Singh (48) was jailed on Wednesday for 22 years for ploughing his heavy vehicle into Australian police officers and killing four of them last year on Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway. Singh was fatigued and drug-affected at the time of the mishap, The Age newspaper reported. Justice Paul Coghlan said the crash had “shocked the public conscience”. pti
