London: Hundreds of thousands of British children joined in an online live physical education (PE) class on Monday after the government ordered the closure of the nation’s schools to curb the spread of coronavirus. British children join exercise lesson from home. The lesson, hosted by well-known British fitness instructor Joe Wicks and plugged by schools and the media, attracted about 800,000 viewers when he streamed it live on YouTube.”I’m going to be your PE teacher for the nation which I thought was just going to the UK, but actually has turned out to be so much bigger,” Wicks, who has 1.17 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, said at the start of the class which he will run every week day. Elon Musk donates 50K N95 masks to US hospital

San Francisco: Tesla CEO Elon Musk has donated 50,000 N95 surgical masks and various protective items to a hospital in the US. Musk has made a promise that he would donate 250,000 masks with the N95 protection level, which belong to his companies, to hospitals. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Health Hospital received a truckload of various protective items, including masks and gowns from Tesla, according to tesmanian.com. Musk has confirmed that Tesla and SpaceX employees are “working on ventilators” even though he does not believe they will be needed. IANS

23 die in attempted Colombia jaibreak

bogota: An attempted jailbreak in Colombia’s capital Bogota has left 23 inmates dead and 83 others injured, Justice Minister Margarita Cabello said “Today is a very painful day for the country. Last night there was a massive and criminal attempt to escape from the La Modelo penitentiary,” Xinhua news agency said. Seven prison guards and officials belonging to the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute (INPEC) among the injured, two of them said to be critical condition, said Cabello. Also on Saturday night, riots occurred in several other prisons in Colombia as part of a large-scale scheme to break out of jail, said the Minister. IANS
