Japanese comedian dies

Veteran Japanese comedian Ken Shimura (70), who tested positive last week, died today. The actor was hospitalised in Tokyo on March 20 after developing a fever and being diagnosed with severe pneumonia. He tested positive for Covid-19 on March 23.

Songwriter Mirril victim

Musician-songwriter Alan Merrill passed away due to complications from the coronavirus. He was 69. Merrill was born in the Bronx in New York City and was a member of the band The Arrows along with drummer Paul Varley and guitarist Jake Hooker.
