Donald Trump loyalists cry foul, won’t accept defeat

Chanting “This isn’t over!” and “Stop the steal”, supporters of President Donald Trump protested at state capitols across the country, refusing to accept defeat and echoing Trump’s unsubstantiated allegations that the Democrats won the election by fraud.

Lawsuit filed in Arizona court against poll process

Washington: Trump’s campaign said on Saturday that it had filed a lawsuit in Arizona, its latest legal challenge over the results of the presidential election. The campaign suffered losses in Michigan and Georgia courts this week. Legal experts said the cases the Trump campaign was bringing were unlikely to change the outcome of the presidential poll. From Atlanta and Tallahassee to Bismarck, Boise and Phoenix, crowds ranging in size from a few dozen to a few thousand — some of them openly carrying guns — decried the news of Biden’s victory after more than three suspense-filled days of vote-counting put the Democrat over the top.

Skirmishes broke out in some cities. In Atlanta, outside the state Capitol in the longtime Republican stronghold of Georgia, chants of “Lock him up!” rang out among an estimated 1,000 Trump supporters. Others chanted, “This isn’t over! Kushner asks President to concede

Washington: Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, has approached the President about conceding the closely-fought election to his Democratic rival Joe Biden, according to media reports on Sunday. The move comes amid reports of Biden’s victory. PTI

Jerusalem civic body’s job offer

Jerusalem: With Trump on his way out of the White House, Jerusalem Municipality has urged him “not to worry” as it may have a number of open positions that he could be eligible to apply for, a media report here said. The post was however quickly removed from the civic body’s Facebook page. PTI
