Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof will miss the COP29 climate summit after clashes in Amsterdam this week between Israeli soccer fans and pro-Palestinian protesters.

“I will not be going to Azerbaijan next week for COP29. Due to the major social impact of the events of last Thursday night in Amsterdam, I will remain in the Netherlands,” he wrote on X. Prosecutors in Amsterdam said late on Saturday that four suspects remained detained on suspicion of violent acts.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
