Tel Aviv: A former Australian school principal accused of sexually assaulting students was extradited to Australia on Monday under an order from Israel’s Supreme Court. Malka Leifer has denied the allegations against her. She had fled Australia in 2008 after the accusations surfaced. Reuters

Earth’s ice loss increases at record speed, says study

London: Earth has lost 28 trillion tonnes of ice between 1994 and 2017. A study, published on Monday in The Cryosphere journal, found that the rate of ice loss from the Earth has increased markedly within the past three decades, from 0.8 trillion tonnes per year in the 1990s to 1.3 trillion tonnes by 2017. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
