SANTORINI: Tourists brave the afternoon heat at Santorini to find a good spot to watch the famed sunset. “This has been my dream since high school,” says American tourist Maria Tavarez. Calling for a cap on visitors, many of its 20,000 permanent residents say the once idyllic island has been ruined by mass tourism. Mayor Nikos Zorzos said the rising number of foreign tourists are putting pressure on the outdated infrastructure of the island, which saw 3.4 million visitors last year. Reuters
