Nepal PM Oli plans 2nd kidney transplant

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday said he was planning to undergo a second kidney transplant as it was a better option than undergoing regular dialysis. Oli, 67, underwent kidney transplant in India in 2007 after both his kidneys failed. He has been visiting hospitals abroad for health check-up ever since. Interacting with editors of major dailies of Nepal, Oli said that he was planning to have another kidney transplant. “After that I would be strong enough to run the government for remaining three years of my tenure,” he said. Finland to double paternity leave

Helsinki: Finland’s woman-led centre-left government plans to nearly double the length of paternity leave to give new fathers the same amount of paid time off work as new mothers, it announced on Wednesday. Paid paternity leave will be extended to nearly seven months, in line with maternity leave. Around half can be given to the other parent. Pregnant women are also entitled to a month of pregnancy leave before the expected date of birth. Reuters
