A suicide bomber blew himself up near a police van in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, but fortunately, no casualties were reported, authorities said.

According to police, the bomber detonated his explosives shortly after the police van had passed by in the Umarzai area of Charsadda district.

A police official confirmed that no one was injured in the blast, as the area was not crowded at the time of the explosion.

A large contingent of police swiftly arrived at the scene to secure the area, and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
