Sri Lanka has appealed against a judgement from Britain’s Proscribed Organisations Appeal Commission, which has delisted the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as a proscribed terrorist organisation.

A foreign ministry statement issued here said Sri Lanka had been made aware of the Open Judgement by the Commission on Wednesday.

It said the decision of the commission arose from an appeal filed in May 2019 by an LTTE front organisation challenging a decision of the British Secretary of State for Home Affairs. — PTI
