The list includes 82-year-old Bilkis Bano for leading a protest against the new citizenship law and Isaivani for breaking male domination in singing. PTI

Israelis plan memorial for Mumbai attack victims

Eilat: Israelis in Eilat city are planning to set up a memorial square for the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, something similar to what it has for the victims of the 9/11 attacks in the US. At least 166 people were killed and over 300 others were injured in the attacks. “We have spoken to the Eilat Mayor for a memorial,” representatives of the Sitar Organisation for Immigrant Jews said. PTI

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
