Bank employee dies after car catches fire

Kurukshetra, December 24

A 55-year-old man was charred to death inside his car when the vehicle reportedly caught fire on the Ladwa-Pipli road near Sonti village on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Devender Kalra, a resident of Kurukshetra. He was posted as an assistant manager in the Central Bank of India in Ladwa. Around 9.30 am, Devender was on his way towards Kurukshetra when his car suddenly caught fire.

After seeing the car burning, a passerby called the fire brigade and Devender’s body was taken out of the car.

Ladwa police station SHO Om Parkash said, “The body has been handed over to the deceased’s family after the post-mortem examination. The reason behind the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.”
