New Delhi, February 14

Prime minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, several Cabinet ministers and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday paid homage to the martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack, which had taken place on February 14, 2019. “Their service and sacrifice for our nation will always be remembered,” Modi said in a message on X.

Shah posted on X, “I bow to the valorous martyrs of Pulwama, who laid down their lives for our motherland. Their supreme sacrifice will always be remembered. Nation will forever remain indebted to our bravehearts.”

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi posted a video on X in which he was seen interacting with family members of Pulwama martyrs, where they can be heard complaining that no investigation had been conducted into the incident. “Five years of Pulwama attack! No hope, no redressal and several questions which still remain unanswered. When will the martyrs get justice?” Gandhi said in a message appended with the video.

Earlier in the day, Rahul paid homage, mentioning on X, “The country will always be indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice dedicated to the defence of India.”

Meanwhile, many Cabinet ministers, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Kiren Rijiju, also paid their tributes on the occasion. On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives in a deadly suicide attack on a bus carrying the personnel in Pulwama’s Lethpora area. The attack was followed by a surgical strike inside Pakistan by India, bringing the two countries to the brink of war.
