The ICC World Test Championship final 2023 is moving ahead at a rapid pace as Australia have set a massive target of 444 runs for India to win in the fourth innings. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walked to the crease and gave a decent start to their chase by adding 41 runs in 43 balls. However, Australia managed to get a breakthrough just before tea as Scott Boland dismissed Shubman Gill getting him caught at Gully.

Amid all the breathtaking action on the field, a heartwarming moment was observed in the stands as well, as an Indian fan proposed to a girl for marriage. The moment was captured on camera as the girl accepted the proposal and the fan helped her wear the ring to announce their engagement. The moment is going viral all over the internet with fans gushing over the cute couple.

India are in trouble after losing Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara in quick succession

Coming back to the match, Australia resumed their innings on 123/4 with a lead of 296 runs on Day 4. Indian seamers started well on the day as Umesh Yadav got the prized scalp of Marnus Labuschagne (41) getting him out caught at first slip.

However, following his wicket India failed to seize the opportunity of bundling out Australia under the lead of 350 as Cameron Green (25) and Alex Carey added 43 runs for the sixth wicket to extend the lead beyond 350. Green got dismissed bizarrely in the first session as he failed to pad a delivery down the leg side which brushed his gloves and crashed into his stumps.

Following his dismissal, Mitchell Starc also piled on the agony for India with his brilliant knock of 41 (57) and added 93 runs for the seventh wicket with Alex Carey (66*). The duo took Australia’s lead past 400 and Australia declared the innings 270/8 in the second innings.

In reply, Indian openers Rohit Sharma (43) and Shubman Gill (18) once again started positively adding 41 runs off 43 balls. However, Gill got dismissed cheaply courtesy of a spectacular catch by Cameron Green. Sharma also fell after adding 50 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara for the fourth wicket, getting out lbw against Nathan Lyon.
