Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday dedicated fire equipment worth Rs 47 crore to strengthen emergency response in border areas of Pathankot, Rajasansi, Ferozepur and other vulnerable locations. Mann said to cater to needs of the border region, fire apparatus — including small and medium fire tenders and other essential machinery — has been dedicated to people of the state. It includes disaster deployment kit, hydraulic combi tool collapse structure and rescue kit, gas detectors, fire entry suits, battery backup lighting tower, multipurpose fire tender, quick response vehicle (small) and other machinery. Karamdin, father of martyred Dilawar Khan, who was awarded Kirti Chakra (posthumous), has urged the government to continue Operation Sindoor till all terrorist hideouts are destroyed. Talking to the PTI on Saturday, he said that he was elated with the Indian armed forces and the Central Government, which have given a befitting reply to the terrorists after the Pahalgam attack. Dilawar (28) was martyred on July 23, 2024, in the Lolab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. During a search operation, Khan killed a terrorist despite being injured, but also lost his life. PTI

The debris of unidentified projectiles was found from two villages in Hoshiarpur district on Saturday morning, officials said. The wreckage was found in Sikri and Sandhra villages, Hoshiarpur Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Mukesh Kumar said. No loss of lives or damage to property was reported, the officials said. Acting promptly, police informed Indian Air Force officials for further investigation.
