The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan held talks on Monday.
The two military officials deliberated on various aspects of the understanding reached between the two sides on May 10 on stopping military actions and firings, it is learnt.
The talks over the hotline were previously scheduled at 12 noon. However, it started at around 5 pm. The outcome of the talks is not yet known.
Meanwhile, India on Monday said all its military bases and systems continue to remain fully operational and ready to undertake any mission if the need arises.
At a press briefing, Director General of Air Operations, IAF, Air Marshal AK Bharti said India's robust air defence system effectively thwarted Pakistani attempts to target Indian installations.

“Our fight was against terror infrastructure and terrorists but the Pakistan military chose to support terrorists and widened the conflict,” the top IAF officer said.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired another review meeting with the top security and military advisers.
The PM is learnt to have told the top military commanders to make the Indian terms of zero tolerance to terror adequately clear to Pakistan when the two DGMOs engage.
The PM is also learnt to have told the commanders to make sure India's position on Pakistan's escalations and provocations are made clear to the neighbour.
In a review meeting on Sunday, the PM told the commanders that “if Pakistan strikes, India will strike harder.”
India continues to maintain a high state of operational readiness on all fronts, the PM's review meeting was informed.
