As many as 250 units of blood were collected during the 22nd blood donation camp organised by the Chamber of Chandigarh Industries (CCI) under its corporate social responsibility initiative at the Community Centre, Industrial Area, Phase I, here today.
Naveen Manglani, president, Chamber of Chandigarh Industries, said: “Apart from an annual blood donation camp, the chamber keeps undertaking social initiatives which are aimed at helping economically weaker sections of society. The blood donation camps are organised annually to help creating a buffer of this important resource.”
The blood bank of the PGIMER collected the blood under the supervision of Dr Suchet Sachdev.
Ashok Goel, general secretary, Chamber of Chandigarh Industries, said: “Free-of-cost tests for creatinine, calcium, sugar (random) and cholesterol were unique aspects of the camp. The Bharat Vikas Parishad collaborated with the Chamber to organise the camp.”
