50 cops get medals for distinguished service, gallantry

As many as 50 J&K Police personnel are among the awardees of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Police Medal for Gallantry, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a police spokesperson, 31 cops got Medal for Gallantry, two got President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 17 got Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
The spokesperson said the UT Administration had also announced Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry and Meritorious Service.
“As many as 127 police personnel have been conferred with the JKP Medal for Gallantry and six officers have been awarded with JKP Medal for Meritorious Service,” he said.
RR Swain, Director General of Police, J&K, said: “This recognition is a testament to unwavering dedication, bravery and commitment of the J&K Police to serving the nation and the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“The selfless service and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed and I am proud to lead such a dedicated and courageous force,” he said.
The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to SSP Imtiyaz Hussain Mir and SSP Joginder Singh.
