A-I opens booking for 2nd repatriation phase

Air India today opened bookings for flights under the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate select persons from the US, UK, Australia, Germany and Singapore.
As per the mission, officials in the Air India said only citizens of the destination countries would be eligible to fly on the outbound flights, but in some cases, persons holding a valid visa of certain duration of that country would also be permitted to travel.
“Reservations for travel from India to select destinations in the US, UK, Australia and to Frankfurt, Paris and Singapore will commence from 1700 hrs on May 14,” the national carrier said.
Under phase one of the mission, Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express were scheduled to operate 64 flights to bring 14,800 Indians home from 12 countries between May 7 and May 14.
On Wednesday, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said 30,000 Indians would return from 31 countries on 149 flights between May 16 and 22, the duration for the second phase.

Regular train tickets till June 30 cancelled
New Delhi: Indian Railways said it has cancelled all bookings for train tickets made till June 30, adding Special and Shramik trains will ply as usual, indicating normal passenger services are unlikely to resume by that date.
