Dr Prashant Gautam elected ABVP Punjab president, Jaskaran Bhullar new state secretary
The office‑bearers will formally assume charge during the 57th state conference of ABVP Punjab, scheduled to be held in Jalandhar from November 14 to 16
Dr Prashant Gautam (Chandigarh) and Jaskaran Bhullar (Ferozepur) have been unanimously elected as state president and state secretary, respectively, of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Punjab for the session 2025‑26. The announcement was made today by ABVP Punjab State Office in Jalandhar.
According to a statement issued today by Election Officer Sardar Harjinder Singh Nagpal of ABVP Punjab State Office, the tenure of both positions will be one year. The office‑bearers will formally assume charge during the 57th state conference of ABVP Punjab, scheduled to be held in Jalandhar from November 14 to 16.
Dr Prashant Gautam hails from Chandigarh. He holds a PhD in tourism and is currently serving as Professor in Department of Tourism at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He is also a member of the Senate of Panjab University. More than 80 of his research papers have been published in international journals, and 15 of his books on tourism have been published. He has been associated with ABVP since 1998, during his student life. As a teacher‑activist, he has held various positions, including district in-charge of Chandigarh and vice‑president of ABVP Punjab. He has been re‑elected as state president for the session 2025‑26. He resides in Chandigarh.
Jaskaran Bhullar hails from Ferozepur. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ram Sukh Das College, Ferozepur, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in tourism and travel management from Panjab University. Associated with ABVP since 2017, he has previously held several key responsibilities, including city joint‑secretary, district convenor, vibhag convenor, district organising secretary, state joint secretary and national executive member. He has played an active and significant role in ABVP’s flood‑relief initiatives and various educational‑reform movements across Punjab. He has been elected as state secretary for the term 2025‑26. He resides in Ferozepur.
