Ambala Police raid illegal drug de-addiction centre, rescue 23 addicts

In a swift operation, the Ambala Police raided an unlicensed drug de-addiction centre in the Saha area, rescuing 23 individuals struggling with addiction.

Following a tip-off, a police team and Health Department officials conducted an inspection at the facility.

The rescued addicts were immediately taken to Civil Hospital Ambala Cantonment for psychiatric evaluation and medical examination before being reunited with their families.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mukesh stated, "We received information from the SP office about the illegal operation. Although the centre operator had applied for a provisional license, it had not yet been granted, making their operation illegal."
