Demand raised to fill vacant posts at Bhikhiwind deaddiction centre

District officials said that the memorandum of the Kafan Bol Pia has been forward to the office of the Civil Surgeon for compliance

Mukhtiar Singh Patti, patron, Nasha Virodhi Mission, Punjab (Kafan Bol Pia) and his associate Jagtar Singh Bhikhiwind, in a memorandum submitted to the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) on Tuesday, demanded the filling up of vacant posts at the de-addiction centre, Bhikhiwind. Mukhtiar Singh said that at the ‘Nasha Mukti Davai Kender, Bhikhiwind, the post of psychiatrists and other medical staff were lying vacant as a result of which the patients had to wait for hours for their turn. He said that as most patients are from the working community, they lose their daily work and fail to earn their daily wage this way.

The leaders of Kafan Bol Pia demanded that the daily wager must be given medicine within no time to help their families and the vacant posts at the de-addiction centre must be filled up immediately.

District officials said that the memorandum of the Kafan Bol Pia has been forward to the office of the Civil Surgeon for compliance.
