15 IPS, 62 HPPS officers transferred in Himachal Pradesh
State government also changes SPs of six districts
In a major administrative shuffle in the Police Department, the state government today transferred 15 Indian Police Service (IPS) as well as 62 Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPPS) officers, who also include Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the four administrative districts, including Kangra and two police districts of the state.
An official notification regarding the transfers was issued by officiating Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta here today.
As per the notification, 2015-batch IPS officer Ashok Rattan, who was serving as the SP, Nurpur, and was also holding an additional charge of the SP, Kangra, was transferred as the SP, Kangra, while 2008-batch HPPS officer and SP, SV&ACB, Mandi zone, Kulbhushan Verma, would now serve as the SP, Nurpur police district.
A 2006-batch HPPS officer Madan Lal, who was serving as the Commandant, Home Guards, 6th Battalion, Mandi, was transferred as the SP, Kullu, replacing Dr Karthikeyan Gokulachandran, who would now hold the charge of the SP (Compulsory Waiting Officer), Police Headquarters (PHQ), Shimla.
Similarly, Balbir Singh, SP, SV&ACB, Dharamshala zone, was transferred as the SP, Hamirpur. He would take charge after the superannuation of Bhagat Singh Thakur, the present SP, Hamirpur. Sushil Kumar, SP (Leave Reserve), PHQ, would be the new SP, Kinnaur, replacing Abhishek Shekhar, who was transferred as SP (Law and Order), PHQ, Shimla.
Vijay Kumar, SP (LR), PHQ, was transferred as SP, Chamba, while Abhishek Yadav, SP, Chamba, would be Assistant Inspector General (AIG), PHQ, Shimla.
Commandant, Home Guard, Chamba, Vinod Kumar, who was deployed as SP Baddi last year had now been transferred to the post of the SP, Baddi.
In addition to this, the state government also transferred 1996-batch IPS officer, Abhishek Trivedi, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, as ADGP, Prisons and Correctional Services, Shimla, a post which he was holding as an additional charge. Prem Kumar Thakur, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Armed Police and Training, Shimla, was transferred as the IGP, Police Academy, Training and Research, Shimla. The additional charge of the IGP, Armed Police and Training, Shimla, was handed over to Bimal Gupta, IGP, SV&ACB.
Dr DK Chaudhary, Principal, Police Training College (PTC), was given the charge of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG). The additional charge of Principal of the PTC was handed over to Soumya Sambasivan, DIG, Northern Range. DIG (Prisons) Anupam Sharma was transferred as the DIG (Crime) CID, Shimla, while DIG (L&O) Ranjana Chauhan was given the charge of DIG (LR), State Human Rights Commission, Shimla.
Manav Verma, AIG, PHQ, was transferred as the SP (Compulsory Waiting Officer), Shimla. Also, ADGP (CID) Gyaneshwar Singh was handed over the additional charge of the ADP (Special Task Force). Along with this, the state government also shuffled ASPs, DSPs and SDPOs across the state.
