Haryana CM Nayab Saini inaugurates Thapali nature camp, vows to bolster eco-tourism

To boost Haryana’s eco-tourism initiatives, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today inaugurated the newly renovated Nature Camp at Thapali, nestled in the Morni hills. Alongside the revamped camp, he also inaugurated a newly constructed Eco-Kutir and reviewed facilities at the Ayurvedic Panchkarma Centre in a move aimed at integrating nature, wellness and tourism.

Accompanied by Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister Rao Narbir Singh and Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Saini also flagged off the first group of trekkers embarking on a natural adventure trail from Kalka to Kalesar.

Addressing the gathering, the CM said, “We are committed to making tourism in Haryana an experience that connects people with nature, culture, and wellness. Such initiatives will create new employment avenues, especially for the youth living in hilly and forested regions.”

‘Morni an ideal model’

Speaking on the cultural and economic significance of the region, CM Saini said Morni’s rich biodiversity, peaceful atmosphere, and vibrant local traditions make it an ideal model for holistic eco-tourism. He stressed that the government envisions a participatory model of development, where local communities play a central role in preserving natural resources while benefitting economically from tourism.

The upgraded infrastructure, he added, will not only attract more visitors to the region but also give a fillip to health tourism centred around yoga and Ayurveda. The state plans to continue developing such tourism nodes across Haryana to position it as a leader in nature and wellness travel.

He also inspected the newly established Climate Change Learning Lab at the Nature Camp. Designed specifically for children, this interactive facility uses engaging games and activities to help young visitors understand environmental challenges and possible solutions.
