19 learn to make eco-friendly cleaning agents

A total of 19 trainees attended a programme on making of cleaning agents using bioenzymes, organised by the Skill Development Centre and the Department of Microbiology under the aegis of Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Publications), said eco-friendly cleaning agents contributed to maintaining the cleanliness of one’s surroundings and also helped reduction expenditure.

Dr Urmila Gupta, Head, Department of Microbiology, delivered a lecture on the use of bioenzymes as organic cleansers. Dr Priya Katyal and Dr Suman Kumari shed light on different uses of bioenzymes and the making of these bioenzymes from agro-waste. She also taught the trainees how they could check the quality of bioenzymes.

Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, School of Business Studies, explained the branding, labelling and marketing of cleaning agents.
